frequently asked questions

Challenges are part of life but sometimes they can be overwhelming and we feel like we are helpless. Stress over a job, anxiety caused by uncertainty over the future, loss because of bereavement, problems over addiction or difficulties in a relationship are just some of the reasons why people feel they can benefit by talking to a professional Counsellor or psychotherapist.

What is Counselling?

Counselling can be of great support in times of crisis or change. Counselling tends to deal with immediate issues that may have arisen more recently e.g. bereavement or relationship breakdown. It can offer other ways of looking at situations and promotes self awareness and change.

What is Psychotherapy?

Psychotherapy is a practice of deep listening and understanding. It tends to deal with deeper, more long-term issues that may be rooted in the past e.g. a trauma, or, serious mistreatment, where the affects of such are ongoing. It provides an opportunity to explore, discover and clarify ways of living more resourcefully towards greater well being.

What will it cost?

Hourly session 60 Euro

The first session?

The first consultation is 30 euros. This is the time to ask the therapist questions about therapy, what is involved, what to expect and when will you expect to see changes. The therapist will also ask questions about your history and your present situation or issue to get an idea of how to approach your treatment plan. The first session is important in deciding if you feel comfortable with your therapist.

When you change the way you look at things, the things you look at, change!
